The quality of breads & pastries is excellent…. However, I am very disappointed in the transition of the chocolate croissant, from what it used to be when they first opened. I remember a croissant oozing with chocolate. Unfortunately they seem to have gone the route that chocolate manufacturers have gone…..higher price less chocolate. Update: Since my initial post, the bakery has addressed this by increasing the chocolate to two strips of chocolate down the middle & the drizzles on the top. Thank you for listening.

If you are craving some freshly baked goods while in Hermanus, then give Daan's Bakery a try. You won't be disappointed. From different bread styles to tasty pastries, they likely have what you are looking for or can make a plan. This time I bought a sourdough loaf and some chocolate croissants, and everything I tasted was fresh and bursting with flavor. I arrived shortly after opening, and they were already very busy and starting to sell out of some goodies. If you are planning on visiting, I recommend going early.

Amazing bakery with fresh, delicious bread and pastries! The croissants are flaky and buttery, the sourdough is full of flavor, and everything tastes like it just came out of the oven. Friendly staff and a warm, welcoming vibe make this a must-visit stop. Highly recommended.

Excellent bakery, brilliant bread, wonderful staff, the person at the till always so exceptionally friendly and the waiter/manager of coffee shop (which is entered around the corner from bakery) best smile in Hermanus and exceptional service. The bakery manager lovely too. Coffee perfection (great barista). Love the inclusiveness in this bakery, props to everyone there! It's truly difficult to find fault, apart from the brilliant experiences (yes, back several times) and perfect place to pickup weekly bread. PS. Look at those sweet things - heavenly!

An absolute Gem in Hermanus! 🥐 The croissants are out of this world. We ordered the chocolate and almond one. The outside was flakey and the inside was perfectly soft. Every bite was just magical 😍 Not to mention, they are very decently priced! Definitely give them a visit if you’re in the area!

Located next to a coffee store with amazing service, this bakery creates an ideal setting for a relaxing morning or afternoon treat. The combination of freshly baked goods and expertly crafted coffee is a match made in heaven!

I popped in to see why it was popular, it’s a local artisan bakery, it has an open prepping area where you can watch the bakers work their magic. The focus is on bread & savoury goods, I chose a spinach & feta, and a bacon pie "open topped" then stepped next door for a coffee. Friendly staff, quite engaging then you notice they have a caring agenda by supporting those with special needs.
