Woolworths Whale Coast Mall

👎 Changed to from 3 star to 1 star, since no one bothered to respond and this is an ongoing issue... Also added a photo of the long cramped queue from the latest visit. Original review: I’ve always enjoyed shopping at Woolworths, but the Whale Coast Mall branch is starting to feel a bit behind the curve. The food section is far too small and quite cramped, especially when compared with the spacious clothing department which is mostly emptier of people. With both Food Lover’s and Checkers recently completing impressive revamps, the difference has become even more noticeable. A refresh of the food department would make a world of difference. A better layout, more space (use some clothing department space), and a modern update would bring the store back in line with what shoppers expect. @Woolworths - Is there anything in the pipeline for an upgrade? This branch has real potential, and a few improvements would lift it significantly to a 5 star rating. @Everyone shopping here. I would like to give credit where it is due. I visited Woolworths at the Whale Coast Mall in Sandbaai to return three items. Each item came from a different transaction and was paid for in a different way — one online, one in-store, and one was a gift. I couldn’t access my online slip, but the in-store staff were incredibly helpful. Chakira C assisted me with most of the process, while Madletyane kindly helped with the online refund using my phone. Both ladies were friendly, patient, and knowledgeable throughout. I left as a very satisfied customer. It was truly a pleasure being assisted by these two wonderful staff members.

Woolworths Whale Coast Mall is one of the anchor tenants in the mall and it’s a large store with a large non-food section. There is a wide range of clothing and home goods but anecdotally, the shoppers seemed more concentrated in the Food section. And the Food section seems almost hidden off to the right as you enter the store insomuch that it’s in your blind spot as you walk in. Service is good.

Store is okay. Cashiers in the food section are sullen and unpleasant. They need training It is a pleasure to go out of Woolies and into Food Lovers Market to interact with pleasant cashiers.

Crisp, clean and inviting. Spacious clothing environment and comfortable foods section too.

Relatively small food selection, but store and staff are great.

I was in this Woolworths today, I was told at 17h10 that the store was closed and was asked to leave even though the door was still open and I was still aloud into the store. Your trading hours online state that the store is open until 18h00 and on the trading hours on the door state that store is open until 20h00. I find this incredibly unprofessional and unacceptable to be told to leave a store that should still be trading according to the advertised hours.
