Family Pet Centre - Pet Shop Fourways

The store is actually quite nice, BUT, I absolutely can't give a good rating to a shop that sells animals but keeps them in such questionable conditions. You are supposed to set the example for how pets should be treated. You are failing. I've seen your previous responses to these types of reviews - you claim that the animals are properly kept and cared for, but that is just total BS. For starters, those poor bunnies right by the open, drafty door - there is NO lid to protect them from people, especially and most importantly, unsupervised children and they have no toys or stimulation. And what about those bird enclosures? They are absolutely depressing and inadequate. You call yourself family pet centre and then behave like corporate pet centre. I don't want your email address. Just be better.

I must say, the customer service and assistance of the staff was excellent! Very knowledgeable. Thank you Kabelo for recommending the Gold Fish, so happy with mine. Thank you also to Pearl for taking over when I had a question today. But to all the staff, keep up the great service! I am super happy with the way you all helped me.

My small Maltese was groomed last Saturday. When I picked him up, my baby couldn’t open his eyes, and the ladies there said it might be due to hair in his eyes, so they put in eye drops. My baby looked so painful, so I immediately took him to Fourways Vet Emergency. The doctor examined him and said he had terrible inflammation in his eyes. The doctor couldn’t say what happened, but it’s possible that other dogs with infections licked him or they used infected materials to rub his eyes. This is terrible, especially since I spent R3200, but my baby is still in pain. You guys need to ensure a sanitary and clean environment!

Had a great experience at the Family Pet Centre. Good service. Good recommendations. Good prices. Saved myself some money but more importantly Family Pet Centre helped me save my pond and fishies.

We had the most amazing experience today with April from the fish department. He was so knowledgeable and gave us great advice. 5 stars all round!

Horrible treatment of animals, selling betta fish for over R1000 and still keeping them in tiny tanks while most are deformed and under fed.... Staff put fish together that eat each other and don't care. Leopard geckos are absolutely depressing, live food is always rotten and decaying.... You are looking after live animals yet you cant sacrifice a smidgen of your profits to actually care for them? I don't want your standard "email us" response, read your own reviews and actually do something about it, don't be so damn lazy!!

Staff friendly, helpful, and know their products. I needed some advice on dog clippers and they went to call the dog groomer and the lady I honestly believed gave me the best advice... This is however a challenging field as not all pet stores do sell proper Clippers for large breeds... So the guidance we're much appreciated
