This is a hidden gem and the freshly baked bread, plus the snacks just add to the experience. Well equipped spacious unit, save parking, quiet area, friendly host. Free wifi. We missed an air con.
We loved our stay in Abigail's Garden Cottage. The cottage had everything we needed and more! Thank you so much to the host for the lovely welcome gifts. We are not big drinkers but could not resist having some of the muscadel provided which was really yummy. Mary was so sweet and helpful and made sure we were comfortable. The garden is very nice and full of beautiful birds and tortoises. We will definitely stay with you again if we are in the area. Montagu is as pretty as a picture 🙂
We recently stayed over at Abigail's Garden Cottage and what a wonderful experience it was. The location is stunning and peaceful but close enough to town centre (shops and restaurants) so there is no need to drive. It is the perfect place to stay in summer or winter. The whole cottage is well equipped. The kitchen has everything you could need when staying at a self cateeing unit and the bedroom is spacious and comfortable. Our hosts were gracious and friendly and we will definitely be back.
We arrived after 7 pm on a Saturday after a long journey and the host was waiting to greet us which was highly appreciated. Beautiful, traditional, cosy South African cottage, very well appointed with everything you could wish for. The host provided fresh bread, juice, milk, lovely fresh coffee beans, bathroom toiletries, fresh fruit and port. Long drive from Knysna but the R62 has stunning scenery and is well worth it. Fantastic hospitality, lovely friendly people and would highly recommend Abigails and Montagu.
Wow this was the best setup we have ever been too. Bird lovers heaven, garden is made to attract birds. Spent hours just watching the birds. Not to mention all the extra goodies provided buy the owners, Colin and his wife. We will DEFINITELY be back.
One of the nicest, cosiest places to stay. Very clean and welcoming, with fresh bread, milk, Camembert cheese, fruit and a few nice surprizes! The garden is a joy; complete with a tortoise or two. Very peaceful.
Perfect for 2 in Montague. Beautiful garden and a lot of attention to detail in the cottage. Walking distance from the main road with all the restaurants. Great value. Thanks Gail!
