Lyndall and her team at Randburg SPCA are phenomenal. Yes, the pre-check process is onerous, but this is because they really care about the animals, and want them to have the best second chance at a perfect forever home. Lyndall guided us through the process and kept us updated throughout. Everyone we encountered was friendly and passionate about their job and the animals in their care. Please adopt and don't buy!

Thank you, Aminee, for the information you provided my daughter and your willingness to assist with the questionnaire. Please go and donate, they really do some great work, and the animals need a good home, so if you can adopt.

I am writing this review with deep sadness and disappointment regarding my dog, Ruth. Ruth was only 5 months old when she was euthanized by the SPCA Randburg after just a few days in their care. The reason given was kennel stress. Ruth was a young puppy who had already been through trauma and was in the process of rehabilitation. She was not given sufficient time, patience, or appropriate intervention to adjust to the shelter environment. Kennel stress in a 5-month-old puppy should not be treated as a reason for euthanasia. The decision was made far too quickly and without adequate consideration of her age, history, or potential. A donation was also accepted, and trust was placed in this organisation to protect her wellbeing. Instead, the outcome was devastating and irreversible. Experiences like this severely damage public trust in animal welfare organisations and discourage people from seeking help. Ruth deserved compassion, care, and a chance at life. Volunteers are no longer allowed, which makes it difficult not to question what is happening behind closed doors and how animals in their care are truly being treated.

Lovely setup, friendly staff, very caring people

As one of the bigger SPCA , many knowledgeable experts . So many in need of adoption. Close to 2000 dogs and cats in 2024. Heart goes out staff for excellent hard work, the best run spca in my opinion

Lovely Place Entrance drive way needs some work, I'd suggest driving very slowly until you've parked. The Cattery facility is beautiful, the cats are grouped into indoor kennels, which are clean. You can only visit 1 cat kennel per day as to avoid cross contamination with the kitties. The kittens we saw were adorable and very friendly! They could give the cats an outside kennel but they seem happy enough!
