Cape of Good Hope SPCA

Inspector Jeffery is just amazing! We called about a kitten stuck in a drain and he responded quickly. He was also a great communicator and just overall an awesome guy! Very grateful for everything the spca does!

Unfortunately this time around went there wth my cat that had a blocked bladder firstly I ws told by the vet on call that they wd nt beable to perform a procedure on my cat as the medications needed fr this surgery was locked up ND at the time he dnt hv the key ,second of all I was given a bill of 2500 fr the procedure after telling them I cdnt afford it I was directed to another institution fr the cost of at leat t1000 rand it's heartsore knowing these institution that are there to assist actually dnt help when we need them the most if u can't pay their fee ur beloved pet will be put down fr the simple reasoning tht u cd nt pay yet they get sponsorship from so many knw everything costs money dnt want free bs but surely there has to be a better way of doing things ND fr keys nt to be available at a emergency facilty it's unheard of ND unprofessional very disappointed indeed I was assisted by the people dispensary fr sick animals my cat eventually died but I was treated much better ND staff was way more sensitive there would recommend them anyway thankyou doc Natasha

What a lovely and pleasant experience. From start to end the staff were so friendly and helpful! They were kind and caring to our cat. Yes you can expect a wait time but please be patient- they are so busy. I urge anyone who has the means to please donate a little on top of there incredibly fair prices to help others.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent care from the SPCA! My cat had an infected abscess, and the SPCA team took amazing care of him. They quickly treated the infection, successfully removed the abscess, and made sure he was comfortable with a cone to protect the wound. The staff were kind, professional, and clearly cared about his well-being. Thanks to them, he’s healing beautifully and back to his happy self. I’m so grateful for their compassion and expertise — highly recommend the SPCA to anyone needing care for their pets!

I will not recommend anybody going to this place. They do not answer their phones and if eventually somebody does ( who will claim they busy, but when you go there, there are 3 staff behind the counter in reception with nobody in the waiting room), you invariably get the wrong information. You then drive all the way Grassy Park and waste your time and petrol going there. The prices are ridiculous, R1,350 to vaccinate a puppy! The staff seem to have an attitude and they do not seem to care about the welfare of dogs as they claim. I tried to get my puppies vaccinated and was turned away. Their website posts information why it is important to have a dog vaccinated, yet they do not have a problem turning away puppies for vaccination and if they do vaccinate the cost is extremely high, what does this say about this organisation? Is this the behaviour of a non-profit organisation? The PDSA is a much better option and they are far cheaper. I now understand why people do not like the Cape of Good Hope SPCA, they behave like policemen with no respect for members of the public. They need to train their staff better instead of trying to restore their public image with their distasteful youtube videos.

My lamb was very ill and I was referred to this site after visiting the Phillip centre. Grassy park advised they do NOT have a vet onsite dealing with lambs. 😭. The centre is very neat and tidy on the outside. I was not privileged to see the operation inside. I am very disappointed ☹️😞 and heartbroken. Where do one go with lambs? They send you from pillar to post!!!! Not offering to make a phone call / enquiring from other centres before sending you running around.heart 💔 Our animals are special to US 💕. They are our family. ❤️.
