Exotic Vet Century City Dr Karli Du Preez

What a lovely exotic vet to take your babies to. From the moment you enter the door you and your pet are made to feel welcome and safe. Showing up early for appointments is always a must for mandatory cuddles with the rescues at reception as well as Dr Karli’s adorable bunnies that roam the practice and keep smiles on everyones faces. Both Dr Karli & Dr Kenan are excellent at what they do and have a real love and passion for helping exotics. Their willingness and patience to answer all questions truly shows every time I have been there. The environment they create at the practice is welcoming and friendly along with their amazing staff members that will always be willing to have a chat. I am always happy to take my babies there with peace of mind that they will be treated with a lot of love and care and I know they are definitely in the best of hands. The kindest and most compassionate staff of vets and nurses. Very professional, friendly, and easy to contact - not a single of my messages went unanswered. Thank you for going the extra mile to help my little mouse Finn with his autoimmune disease, and for your sensitivity with his euthanasia. I will certainly be bringing all my future critters here, and hoping to adopt many from your excellent care.

I’ve been with Exotic Vet Century City (EVCC) since they opened but I’ve known Dr. Karli for many years before that too. She’s always had such a deep love and understanding for exotic animals. As a rat owner I've seen over and over the benefits of her expertise and the time she spends with each of my pets. I also like to be informed and she is always happy to answer my million questions and it is clear she stays up to date with the latest studies and is always happy to research things further for me when I have questions or there isn't any known treatments available. She goes out of her way to find the best solutions for my precious floofs. This same care runs through the whole team at EVCC. It’s clear this is not just a job for them, they’re always thinking about how to improve the lives of the animals they see. My rats also love visiting EVCC which makes it less stressful on everyone. Even my most nervous little guy is completely relaxed when he’s there. They’ve also been amazing in emergencies. We all know you can’t plan for those moments but EVCC has always found a way to help. That kind of support is rare and it means so much and has saved a few of my rats lives. The vet nurses are incredible too. They are dedicated, kind and so invested in what they do. They’ve helped nurse several of my rats back to health and when my rats has had to stay in hospital, they’ve kept me updated with photos, videos and messages which always helps us helicopter moms feel better. What really sets EVCC apart, though, is how much they truly care. From starting their own NPO (Exotic Vets Rescue) to help more exotic pets in need (where the team is volunteering their precious little free time to help) to the way they handle the hardest goodbyes with such compassion and respect. I've had to say goodbye to a lot of my rats (as is unfortunately the case with their short lives) and the team always gives me the space and kindness needed in such times without making me feel rushed. They understand that the rest of the mischief also has to get time to say goodbye to their friend and they do their best to make a very hard moment a little easier. That care stays with you. EVCC is more than a vet clinic. It’s a place full of heart, knowledge, exotic pets and people who are truly passionate about what they do. If you have exotic pets, I can’t recommend them enough! No animal too small, odd looking or weird. If someone loves it, these people at Exotic Vet do too. They helped 2 baby field mice that my cat brought home, their little eyes were still closed and through various amazing people at Koeburg nature trust and others put me in touch with Exotic Vet. Huge relief knowing i dont have to see more baby creatures die in my care, and that there are professionals who care.

Absolutely the best exotic vet there is. I have owned rats for many years and Dr Karli and her team are just amazing. Not only do they take care of your pets like they are their own, but the practice is so welcoming and the atmosphere relaxing. My rats and I have always been treated with compassion, love and the best medical care you could ask for.

Absolutely fantastic. The Dr's and staff are always friendly and genuinely cares. I am thankful for all they have done and will still do for my rats in future.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I cannot recommend the Century City Exotic Vet enough! Dr. Karli is truly exceptional with birds – so gentle, knowledgeable, and caring. She takes the time to explain everything thoroughly and provides constant updates, which gave me so much peace of mind. The whole team is wonderful. The receptionist is always friendly, efficient, and welcoming, and the nurse shows such compassion and dedication to the animals. You can tell they all genuinely love what they do. It’s rare to find a veterinary practice where you feel completely confident that your bird is receiving the best possible care, but this clinic truly delivers. I am so grateful to have found them – they really are the best! 🐦❤️
