Strubens Valley Animal Hospital

Sunday 01.02.2026. Our dog Bella unfortunately was euthanized, by our decision, after having a consultation with the Dr on call on this Sunday morning 9:50am. Unfortunately I cannot remember her name, but she was very kind and professional about the whole visit. Did the checks, explained everything to us, spoke about the options and did the euthanizing with so much care and respect. I also have to say a word of gratitude to Loretta Gubula who also treated us with kindness during our visit. Thank you for making an unpleasant morning a little more bearable with you kindness and empathy during our visit.

Our dog was spayed at this clinic about three years ago. During a recent, unrelated abdominal surgery at another veterinary practice, it was discovered that non-absorbable internal sutures had been used and left in place from the spay. Most were removed, but two were adhered to tissue and could not be safely removed. I was advised this is not standard practice for routine spay procedures. Sharing for transparency.

I just needed a refill on the prescription. My dog has 3 to 6 months to live. I was told that they would not issue the medication without re-examining my dying dog. I was willing to pay for the prescription and the medication, not for them to tell me what we already know. We went to the original vet and paid for the medication. I would rather drive 15 km than go 200 meters.

Great experience, staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Helped our furbaby feel better again very quickly. Would definitely recommend. Be sure to make an appointment online for a smooth consultation process.

I took my English bulldog this morning to Strubensvalley Vet because she has an allergy reaction & has been scratching & scratching. I had not made an appointment and when I arrived i was told NO VETS where available- one was busy with administrative & the other was operating. What if this was an emergency??? Surely the vet busy with "admin" could have attended to my dog?? PATHETIC!!! I asked the person at reception twice, are you sure vet is available? NO UNFORTUNATELY NOT! WELL UNFORTUNATELY I WONT BE COMING BACK TO STRUBENS VET EVER AGAIN! ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC!

The best Animal Hospital and vet we’ve ever been to. I have two Chows and they felt so much better after being treated by Dr Kirsten. Amazing Vet, wonderful service
