Very very impressed, my small female can be difficult with people, so I was nervous, the nurse handled her with such care, my child didn’t bat an eye lid… we got through it beautifully. My very nervous male, who’s a sweetheart but looks dangerous and has previously (not by them) been handled badly, I was very anxious, but they treated him with such respect and tenderness, we had a really relaxed, and pleasant experience all round… The vets are incredible, and knowledgeable, the nurses are spectacular and the handlers are wonderful, everyone in this clinic had the right balance of care, respect and understanding… I would recommend them to anyone

These doctors know their work! Been searching for a great place to take my new pup and after all the research this Vet came out tops in reviews and service. Our Little Puppy Max was calm, no anxiety and overall a really great first vet experience, doc answered all our questions, have us advise and treated little Max with the utmost respect! Keep up the great work! See you soon!

The team at Weltevredenpark Veterinary Clinic were so friendly, kind, and thoughtful. From the moment I walked in, they were welcoming and open, and they treated my dog with such kindness and respect. The clinic itself is clean, professional, and warm, making both pets and owners feel at ease. And to top it off, the surprise appearance of a baby goat absolutely made my day! Such a wonderful experience — highly recommend this vet.

Our 14-year-old cat has been limping, and we suspected a possible dislocation or injury. We were transparent about our financial limitations and our desire to avoid unnecessary suffering — either by exploring affordable care or, if there was no option, preparing our children for the possibility of euthanasia. The response we received felt like a generic, impersonal message with no effort to help us understand possible outcomes. We weren’t asking for treatment over the phone — just some guidance to help us decide whether we were bringing our cat in for assessment or for a final goodbye. When people reach out in situations like this, it’s not just about money or logistics — it’s about communication, compassion, and helping families make informed decisions. That was missing here. The defensive reply from the owner claiming that providing any general guidance would be "unethical" is, frankly, ridiculous. Offering a rough idea of whether a case like this is usually treatable without surgery, or suggesting a sliding scale, is not unethical — it’s called being human. You would have gotten your R700 either way. We just wanted to know what we might be walking into. If you’re looking for clinical accuracy from people who want your money with no personal touch, this may be the place for you. If you’re looking for a vet who understands the emotional and financial context of pet owners — especially during heartbreaking decisions — you might want to keep looking.

We have experienced the poorest and non-caring service by the vet and the receptionist (who has no bedside manners and is not professional at all). We will never go back to the Weltevredenpark vet clinic. Please do not go there and make the same mistake as we have, thinking they are caring veterinaries and have our dogs best interest at heart!!! We took our JR to them as she was struggling to breath. We were informed that she is in the early stages of heart failure. They gave us meds which we should use for 6 months. We however took her back the following day informing the vet that her breathing got worse. We were informed that she has fluids on her lungs and were given extra meds. We went past the vet a third time informing them that our dog is vomiting and cannot keep the meds down. We were given meds for nausea (after informing the vet that she cannot keep meds down - how in the hell will she keep anti-nausea meds down then?). We took our dog back to the vet on the Saturday and asked if they can admit her, as she is really weak and not eating, drinking, walking and she is vomiting / have a running stomach all the time. We were informed that they do not admit dogs over the weekend and referred us to another vet in Krugersdorp (we stay in Northcliff)!! They were not willing to go the extra mile for our furbaby, which has been part of our family for 13 years! This is despite taking her to the vet a few times during the week. They are pathetic! And they are just there for money and to have their weekends for time off. They are not there for the love of animals. Thank you for nothing Weltevredenpark Vet!!!! Your service have been terrible and non-existent. Our poor baby passed away and had suffered the last few day, which is on your hands!!!! You are heartless!!!
