I have just recently came back into the reefing world, and was setting up my tank. It’s been a while but I somewhat knew what I needed. The first couple of purchases from AC for lights, filters, heaters etc went rather smoothly, friendly lady at reception and good service. I then saw they had a second hand RO unit and was told it was given to them by a client who used it for RO water. I bought it and new filters as well. Little did I know, when I got home to set it up i realised it did not have a resin filter which is what makes water 0TDS and is crucial for a marine aquarium. Went back to the store the next day to buy the canister (was already sold the resin without even telling me I needed the resin chamber), anyways people make mistakes so I was not upset. Now I get home, set everything up and another disappointment, the unit did not have a flush valve which again is really needed for true RO. I bought it to a specialist and was told this system was originally for drinking water and was not setup at all for a marine aquarium, the pressure tank it came with is not even meant for marine, but rather for drinking water. This really bothered me. Being sold something that I was told was for a marine aquarium. I have now spent more money on new parts and filters than I would have done by just buying a brand new system. I get it I bought it second hand. But at least warm customers you need to spend x amount more to make it suitable for marine tanks and get 0 TDS. Or tell them that it was originally for drinking water and not marine. Sure, possibly this was not AC fault but at least TEST what products you are selling so you can be truthful to your customers.

Always get fantastic service here from Shireen. Fast and friendly. Possibly the best salt water tank supply shop in Cape Town. Lovely selection of corals and gadgets required. Advice also given for any tank problems. Definitely recommend

Brilliant place to go if you are addicted to marine aquariums. The owner also has some great advice and tips and loves the hobby! Will keep going back for more.

Very bad follow up service. They haven’t been to service the tank or do a water change for over 6 weeks now. And no communication either 🙁
