Blue Bush Animal Clinic

I wish I had Blue Bush here in NZ! I miss them.... Vet care here in NZ is so stupid! They messed up and now my beautiful cat Chloe passed away because they simply don't care, missed basic steps. Now I have to live with that ache 💔😭

Blue Bush is great and their prices are very reasonable. However, we’ve had to go elsewhere because they insist on appointments but very often don’t answer the phone or reply to WhatsApp messages. I really wish they’d either do away with appointments or make making appointments easier (e.g. offer online appointment bookings).

I would never recommend this place. The staff were so incredibly rude, with zero empathy or care for the humans they meet. I trusted that they’d take care of my cat at least. But the doctor even called the receptionist stupid in front of all the clients in the front room. Then after the dental surgery during which they removed almost all of my cat’s teeth without warning me, there was zero aftercare explanation or anything. I had no idea what this meant for my cat going forward and had to ask another vet friend of mine to explain it all to me so I could stop panicking, thinking I had ruined my cat’s life. They gave us an A4 printout and a syringe of something called Petcam with no explanation of what it was. And that was that. If you value your own sanity and want to be at all vaguely informed, I’d definitely give these guys a skip. We will never be going back there…

Most amazing vet that still cares about their pet patients and will do everything possible to help any pet. My baby got very sick and they took her in immediately and operated to save her. She is still critical, but I have faith she will fight and be home soon. We love you, Cuddles, the house is so empty without you. Please come home to us quickly.

Blue Bush Vet came to our rescue after our cat was hit by a car. For about a week we tried to have her seen to by a specialist, and we battled to get her treatment. We received a quote from a different place for R25k, which was insane. We went to Blue Bush for a second opinion and they advised us they would be able to assist our kitty without needing surgery at all! Despite being crazy busy, and full of emergencies, they took our kitty in, gave her such incredible care and the post service and check ups were amazing. The entire staff were so kind and compassionate and we felt so content with the entire experience. Fwd to 6 weeks later, our kitty is well on the mend! A special thank you to Dr Ross <3

Absolutely horrified by my experience at Blue Bush Animal Clinic. My kitten was spayed there last Tuesday, and that same evening she began vomiting blood. After many failed attempts to reach them, we had to rush her to Fourways Vet for emergency care. The staff at Blue Bush were rude, dismissive, and took no accountability — only excuses and no compassion. A spay is a routine procedure, yet my kitten suffered greatly. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone who truly cares about their animals.

Whilst they are not my personal vet, I have had experience with them through my foster kitties as they were sterilized there. The vet nurse is very friendly and they give you a detailed post-op pamphlet on how to care for your kitty after surgery and what to look out for. They are also more affordable than other vets.
